About Us
Our Chapter
Hello! We are the Carnegie Mellon University Pre-Associate Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Inc., an international, Asian-interest (but not exclusive) organization. Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, we inspire our members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy, and ambition. We always strive for excellence.
In the Fall of 2003, our chapter was established by: Dora Chang, Elaine Chen, Eunice Choi, Irene Choi, Patty Chon, Christina Chuo, Ranie Guo, Sandy Hsieh, Lisa Kim, Grace Lam, Emily Ng, Cathy Oh, Jessica Woo, and Christine You. Since then, we have built a supportive and everlasting community of over 200+ women.
Our chapter officially falls under CMU's Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), which supports culturally-based Greek organizations on campus.
National History
alpha Kappa Delta Phi was established at the University of California, Berkeley in 1990 as an organization that would provide Asian American women the opportunity to participate in Greek life. After being recognized by the College Panhellenic Association, the founding sisters brought together a diverse group of women who shared with them the goals of sisterhood, scholarship, and leadership.
As of now, aKDPhi has initiated 9,000+ sisters at over 65+ chapters across North America. aKDPhi is a proud member of the National APIDA Panhellenic Association (NAPA), which represents Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi-American Greek letter organizations in the US.
